Dorsett Hotel Hong Kong
We opted to stay in a “hotel” on our last day in Hong Kong to relax, and we were surprised by how beautiful the hotel was.
This is a small hotel at the center of Kowloon, near Ladies Market and Langham Mall. A bit far from the MTR station, but you can still walk from the hotel around 10-15 minutes or you can always ride a cab. This hotel is more like small boutique hotels in the Philippines.
I noted in the reservation to give us a room with a bath tub as high as possible to get rid of the noisy vehicles in the street. The existing reviews from other patronizers were really helpful. During check in, the hotel receptionist reassured that family rooms are in the highest floors, so the room given to us was at the 2nd to highest floor, with a good view of some Kowloon skyscrapers. The receptionist that assisted us was really welcoming and kind – at least she knows how to speak in English with which we did not have any problems asking her some information or directions.
The family room is a like a one bedroom suite that has 2 twin beds (perfect for our 2 friends) and a double bed inside the room (which was for the 3 of us – 2 adults and 1 kid). Our reservation did not include breakfast so I will not be able to comment on the food.
The room was not very spacious but inside was well-decorated. Linens are new and comfortable. They have complimentary water bottles (big sized) for each of us, coffee, cream, sugar and tea sachets that comes with an electric water heater, mugs and teaspoons. There were adequate stock of toiletries – bath gel (with a smell that’s really inviting), shampoo, toothpaste, toothbrush, room slippers, cotton buds, shower caps, and lots of bath/face towels. What surprised me was that they have a tiny sachet for the sewing kit!
The bathroom was spacious, sad they do not have a bidet though, but I loved the tub. Since it was really cold when we visited Hong Kong, I soaked up in a hot bath and it really helped relax my muscles after a whole day of walking and touring Ocean Park to The Peak Tower.
