MeteorologistBob Anthony has been a familiar face to Boise TV viewers for over 20 years. Bob’s parents were born in the Treasure Valley. Bob grew up in the valley and has lived in Caldwell, Ontario, Meridian and Boise and attended Borah High and Boise State University.
Bob began his media career here in Boise in 1977 while still a senior at Borah High when he became a radio personality for KBBK radio (now 92.3 KIZN). After over a decade of Top 40 and rock radio at various Boise radio stations, Bob made the jump to television and worked both behind and in front of the camera.
Bob first appeared on television as a weekend weather person in 1990. Other positions held over the years have included Morning Weather Anchor and Chief Meteorologist. For a time Bob was the evening weather anchor for Northwest Cable News in Seattle in 1999 and was also the Senior Public Information Officer for the Idaho Department of Water Resources before returning to television in 2011.
Bob holds a certificate in Broadcast Meteorology from Mississippi State University and has been honored as Best On Air Radio Personality by the Idaho State Broadcasters Association and Best Television Weathercast by the Idaho Press Club.
In his spare time Bob is an avid road and mountain biker and formerly was a sport level mountain bike racer and even did the weather with a broken collar bone once which he broke during a mountain bike race just before coming to work. During the winter he spends a lot of time skiing and snowboarding.
Bob is proud of his daughter Tanner who models internationally and has been all over the world appearing on magazine covers in Milan and Hong Kong and in ads for Levis, Samsung and others. Bob said it was very weird to see his daughter on a magazine cover on a newsstand in a Hong Kong subway during a visit a few years ago. She now lives in New York City.
