Distance from Hong Kong to Macau
Known as a gambling mecca or the Las Vegas of the east, Macau is a popular tourist destination, especially from Hong Kong. There are two main Macau ferry operators from Hong Kong, TurboJet and CotaiJet. With a frequent and fast service daily, you can reach Macau by ferry from Hong Kong within an hour.
TurboJet Macau ferry runs from Hong Kong to Macau on both weekdays and weekends with ferries every 15 minutes, from 7am to 12am. The same applies for ferries coming from Macau back to Hong Kong. Although not as frequent, TurboJet also runs late night ferry services in both directions:
|HK -> Macau||Macau -> HK|
The duration of the Macau TurboJet is approximately 55 minutes, with the ferry running from the Macau Ferry Terminal located in Sheung Wan, Hong Kong, and arrives at Macau Maritime Ferry Terminal. Located in the heart of the city, the Macau ferry terminal is at a close distance to most of the major casinos and hotels, such as Lisboa and MGM.

Cotai Water Jet runs from Hong Kong to Taipa, the area of Macau home to some of the city’s most popular casinos and hotels, such as The Venetian and The City of Dreams. Thus Macau CotaiJet may be more convenient for those visiting Macau to go to hotels located in Taipa, rather than in Macau city, for which TurboJet is more convenient. The duration for the CotaiJet ferry is one hour.
